Pew Go
The PewGo started as a donated Pew that sat inside the MTC for a couple weeks before students started commenting on why it was there. Beau Grillo challenged students to come up with ideas on how the Pew should roll around campus. A 1983 Club car golf cart and lots of other components were donated to the Gonzaga MTC and during the fall semester 2015 students restored and modified the PewGo to what it is today.

Aiden's Trike
The MTC had a chance to meet Aiden during community service with the KXLY Extreme Team and St. Luke's Rehabilitation Institute. 10 year old Aiden lost the use of his legs due to transverse myelitis, and students were challenged to build a trike that Aiden could power with his arms. Gonzaga students engineered and built the hand powered assembly for an off the shelf leg powered trike. Aiden's trike was also modified with a powered electric hub and now Aiden has a choice to power with his arms or when he is tired he can let the powered hub take over. Full Article

Turner's Cube
The Turners Cube is one of many projects inside the MTC that students have the opportunity to learn how use tools and machines. Gonzaga students have the opportunity to learn how to use many common tools in a workshop including welding, lathe work, and milling. There are manual and CNC machines in the shop giving students the availability to learn both.
Who Are We?
The Manufacturing Technology Center (MTC) offers an opportunity for students to learn hands-on skills. The MTC allows students to learn-by-doing. From welding to computer numerical control machining, our professional staff leads students through projects enabling them to learn the skills that will serve them well in their future careers. These skills are often viewed as a valuable talent within the work force and can contribute to post graduate studies nationwide. The body of work produced by students is a strong asset for use in their professional portfolio. Industry is looking for graduates with hands-on skills every day, so stop by to say hello and stay to learn and grow.
