The School of Engineering and Applied Science received a large donation of blade servers and components ($778,000) from the Intel Corporation in 2008. This generous gift has become a large part of the Intel Corp. Computational Sciences Lab in the PACCAR Center.
The ICCSL provides the computational tools necessary for faculty and students to perform large-scale research projects.
The ICCSL was established in the summer of 2008. Now in it's second year, the hardware and tools in the lab are undergoing ongoing development, testing, and performance tuning. The ICCSL is currently focused on reaching out to the diverse research areas on campus to offer it's capabilities which are unique at Gonzaga.
Goal 1:
To create a resource that enables interdisciplary research through modern tools available to the School of Engineering, Gonzaga University, and the Spokane/Inland Northwest community.
Goal 2:
To develop new tools for the advancement of computational science labratories through Open Source software projects and publications.
Goal 3:
To foster relationships between our students and research partners while building essential skills in the area of the computational science.
Goal 4:
To provide a laboratory for outside partners to take an active role in the advancement of our students.
